Ear Balm contains natural oils and butters to help keep horses’ ears and faces moisturised and comfortable during the dry Summer months.

Soothing salve for horses

Ear Balm Red Horse for dry, irritated ears can be a great source of annoyance to horses, causing them to head toss and be generally irritable. Ear Balm can be used on any skin on your horse to moisturise and soothe irritation.

This is the difference between a horse that has our Ear Balm in (over 2 hours ago) and one that doesn’t… we think you will be able to tell which is which. Don’t you think it’s about time you tried…

How to apply

Spot check on a small area of skin before use and do not use if a reaction is shown. Rub a small amount onto visible areas of the ear and face. Do not get any in deeper parts of the ear. Re-apply as required.

All of the ingredients in Ear Balm have been chosen to help your horse stay comfortable and protected from summer irritations.

Olive oil – A moisturising and antibacterial oil.

Saltidin (10%) – A state-of-the-art synthetic compound used to soothe, moisturise and reduce irritation.

Shea butter – A moisturiser with natural UV protective elements.

Neem oil – An essential oil with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Beeswax – Beeswax provides a barrier against moisture loss.

Case Studies from Red Horse Products

This horse presented with a large number of fingerprint sized areas of hair loss and scurf all over his forehead and underneath his forelock. These were sore and itchy, though to have been caused by a reaction to fly bites.

Ear Balm was rubbed into the area on a daily basis, which the horse seemed to visibly enjoy.

Within 4 days the itchiness had subsided and the hair had completely grown back.
